When the UK Government tasked the CCC with reviewing its climate commitments in line with the Paris Agreement and the IPCC Report, it was widely perceived as having precluded any changes prior to 2032.

So on 26 October, Plan B wrote to the Energy Minister, Claire Perry, asking her to explain the position by 9 November or face legal action.

The Minister has now responded to Plan B confirming that the carbon budgets may be changed after all. That’s good news and one less legal action we need to start!
