In an extraordinary intervention, more than 130 leading international experts, including Sir David King, the Government’s former Chief Scientific Adviser, Dr James E. Hansen, the ex-NASA scientists and “godfather of climate science”, Professor Jeffrey Sachs, former special adviser to the UN Secretary General, and Ralph Regenvanu, Leader of the Opposition in Vanuatu, have today (30 March 2021) written to the Supreme Court concerning its decision in favour of Heathrow expansion, urging it to “take appropriate steps to mitigate the profound harm its judgement has caused”.
